With this kit, students will explore the Environmental Literacy and Sustainability components of the STEELS Standards. Students will learn about the mechanics of wind energy, beginning with a comprehensive description of how wind energy functions. They will engage in testing wind turbines under various conditions, allowing them to analyze and identify the optimal circumstances for maximizing power output from the turbine. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to design and construct their own wind turbines, applying their understanding of wind energy principles to achieve the highest possible energy output. This hands-on approach fosters creativity, experimentation, and a deeper comprehension of renewable energy concepts.
